Festive Chocolate Cookies



A festive twist on a cookie classic. Chocolate Cookies with White Chocolate Chips.


Ingredients:


  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1/4 cup shortening + 1/2 tbsp water
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1.5 cups white chocolate chips (mine were Christmas coloured)

Steps:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. 
  2. Ina bowl, add unsalted butter, shortening and water and beat just until well combined. Add brown and white sugar to the mixture, and beat once again
  3. Next add 1 egg and 1 tsp vanilla and beat in butter mixture. 
  4. In a separate bowl designated for dry ingredients, add flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. 
  5. Add flour mixture to butter mixture in two additions, beating between two additions
  6. Fold  1.5 cups white chocolate chips into the mixture
  7. Optional: refrigerate your cookie dough. 
  8. Bake for 8-10 minutes

4. Add egg, vanilla to butter mixture and beat until well combined. 


5. In a separate bowl designated for dry ingredients, add flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. 



6. Add flour mixture to butter mixture in two additions, beating between two additions



7. Fold  1.5 cups white chocolate chips into the mixture



8. Scoop cookie batter onto cookie tray lined with parchment paper. 


9. Bake for 8-10 minutes and then allow to cool. 



10. Serve!
