Ingredients
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup shortening (I used Crisco's vegetable shortening)
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tbsp vanilla
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 cups chocolate chips
Steps
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit
- Preparation of wet ingredients: Beat together butter & shortening. Gradually add and mix white sugar and brown sugar. Once well mixed add eggs and vanilla.
- Preparation of dry ingredients: In separate bowl whisk together flour, baking soda and salt.
- Combine wet & dry ingredients: Gradually add your flour mixture and beat between additions until well combined. Stir in chocolate chips.
- Optional: Refrigerate cookie dough for 30 minutes.
- Line your baking tray with parchment paper, and drop tablespoonsfuls of cookie dough approximately 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 15 minutes until the outer edges are slightly golden brown or the cookies are slightly underbaked - as you will allow the cookies to cool on the trays for 5 minutes in the oven before removing them.
