For Christmas Eve my dad, uncle and I went to a pho restaurant in Mississauga, Ontario. My dad usually do our IKEA breakfast trips but it was good to have pho, which I normally don't go out of my way to eat since living out on my own.
The store front :
The venue was clean, spacious and overall a very nice ambience. My uncle quickly told me that this place charges 10% more than most "cheap" pho places. I could see the clientele was different than most places people frequent (read: me), lexus and BMWs in the parking lot.
The meal starts off with a nice cup of hot Jasmine tea:
Fresh bean sprouts that comes with each pho meal:
Pho Chin Nam (well done beef noodle soup):
Vietnamese Coffee
Vietnamese coffee is an important staple in Vietnam:
"Cà phê nóng" - Vietnamese Coffee straight up (hot)
"Cà phê sữa nóng" - Hot Vietnamese Coffee with condensed milk
"Cà phê sữa đá" - Iced Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk
1. The coffee grounds you see there in that contraption is a French drip filter (cà phê phin) that is placed on top of the cup with condensed milk. You pour hot water through and it can take up to 5 minutes for it to entirely drip through. What drips through is rich in flavour (and caffeine!) onto sweet condensed milk.

2. Add hot water to dilute and stir. The coffee is sitting in a small bowl of hot water to keep cool.

Generally you can get Vietnamese coffee at any pho or Vietnamese restaurant, worth a try :)
